Web Developer (PHP, Javascript, LAMP)

A startup company with offices in the Boston North Shore and San Francisco Bay Area is building the next generation platform in Social Publishing, Social Media and Knowledge Management. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Web Developer to join our exceptional team of engineers and researchers. The company is founded by seasoned entrepreneurs in the technology and Internet space.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve existing architecture

  • Work with other engineers in writing and implementing technical specifications including PHP, Javascript, and MySQL development

  • Work with team to design, implement, and maintain new features and upgrades

  • Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions

Qualifications

  • Strong desire to work in a startup environment on state-of-the-art technologies

  • Expert knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS with the ability to write quality code fast

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance

  • 3+ years of web development experience in a commercial environment

  • 2+ years of prior experience with LAMP stack development (Apache, MySQL, PHP)

  • Quick learner with good communication and problem solving skills

  • Desire and willingness to work in a high-speed, constantly changing environment with flexible work hours

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or relevant work experience

Pluses

  • Proficiency in MySQL database design

  • Proficiency in jQuery

  • Experience targeting Mobile Platforms, including Android, iOS, and Windows Phone 7 platforms
